MeetDenmark's strategy

MeetDenmark is currently further developing the association's strategy. The new strategy is expected to be published at the end of 2019. MeetDenmark's existing strategy was prepared in 2015. The strategy contains 8 focus areas. These are briefly described below.

Strengthening core services
MeetDenmark recruits potential convention hosts from Danish knowledge environments and develops bids for international association conventions together with national, regional and local partners. MeetDenmark also provides support to the international associations coming to Denmark.

Knowledge Partnerships
The destinations of MeetDenmark cooperate with national and regional knowledge environments and focus on strengthening the conditions of scientists when hosting international conventions. Thus, Danish researchers are often the key to attracting the international conventions.

Infrastructure – transport and digital
MeetDenmark focuses on the importance of strong infrastructure and accessibility. Thus, these elements have a major impact on Denmark's competitiveness in the international convention market.

Outreach
MeetDenmark works to develop the Danish outreach effort and make Denmark internationally known as a destination that can create networks and cooperation between the local business community and the international conventions. Thus, outreach is a tool for strengthening innovation and growth – both in the international associations, the scientific community and in Danish businesses in general.

Must-Win congresses
MeetDenmark is working to strengthen knowledge exchange across the Danish business tourism destinations to increase the opportunities for Denmark to attract specific conventions particularly suited for Danish strengths.

Media Partnerships
MeetDenmark works to strengthen the exposure of conventions held in Denmark and to strengthen Denmark's image as a knowledge-based nation. The association also works to increase the knowledge and use of Danish hosting for international conventions as a business policy tool – for example in the Danish municipalities and ministries.

Common branding
MeetDenmark works with VisitDenmark to brand and market Denmark as a leading convention and meeting destination.

Measurement
MeetDenmark continuously monitors developments in the congress market as well as the impact of business tourism in Denmark.
